Safeguarding

Last updated: September 2026

Our commitment to safeguarding

At Flourishing Foundations CIC, we believe that everyone has the right to feel safe and protected from harm. We are committed to a practice that protects children and adults at risk from abuse and neglect. We acknowledge our duty of care and strive to create a culture of vigilance where safeguarding is everyone's responsibility.

Children and young people

We recognise that children and young people are particularly vulnerable. Our staff and volunteers are trained to identify signs of distress or potential harm and are clear on the internal reporting processes to ensure that all concerns are addressed swiftly and professionally.

Adults at risk

Safeguarding adults at risk involves protecting an adult’s right to live in safety, free from abuse and neglect. We work to support individuals to make their own choices while providing a safety net when their wellbeing is compromised.

Safe delivery of programmes and activities

All our activities are designed with safety as a priority. This includes conducting risk assessments, ensuring appropriate supervision ratios, and maintaining a safe environment for all participants during both face-to-face and digital interactions.

Appropriate professional boundaries

We maintain clear professional boundaries to protect both our service users and our team. This ensures that relationships remain focused on wellbeing and support, preventing any confusion or potential for inappropriate behaviour.

Responding to safeguarding concerns

Every safeguarding concern will be taken seriously and handled appropriately with the utmost sensitivity. We follow a strict internal procedure to ensure all information is recorded accurately and reported to the necessary internal leads immediately.

Confidentiality and information sharing

While we respect confidentiality, safeguarding the safety and wellbeing of an individual is paramount. Please be aware that information may need to be shared with relevant safeguarding services or authorities where there is a concern about someone’s safety or wellbeing.

How to raise a safeguarding concern

If you have a concern about yourself or someone else involved with our programmes, please contact us. Where there is an immediate risk of harm or an emergency, you should call 999.
